JPDCL Announces Scheduled Power Shutdowns Across Jammu and Kathua Districts; Check Timings and Affected Localities

JAMMU, April 15, 2026: The Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) has scheduled a series of planned power shutdowns across various districts to carry out essential maintenance and infrastructure upgrades.

According to the Chief Engineer (Distribution), JPDCL Jammu, residents in Dedpeth, Chatroo, Ikhala, and Dachan will experience outages on April 16 from 9 am to 4 pm, while the Kishtwar Town area is slated for a similar shutdown on April 18. Furthermore, power supply to Jogwan, Soha Bhalwal, Khour, and Kaleeth will be restricted on April 16 and 17 between 9 am and 2 pm.

In the Trigam and Kuntwara sectors, the shutdown is scheduled for April 17 from 9 am to 4 pm. Urban and suburban areas, including Rajinder Nagar, Paloura, Roop Nagar, and Lower Muthi, will face a five-hour interruption on April 18 starting at 10 am, while essential lines supplying PHE Sheetli, Sidhra, and MES Nagrota will be affected on the same day from 11 am to 3 pm.

In a separate notification, the Superintending Engineer (Distribution) JPDCL, O&M Circle Kathua, has informed consumers that maintenance work will also impact parts of the Kathua district. Specifically, the power supply to the Ansal and Birpur areas will be suspended on April 16 from 8 am to 2 pm.

Additionally, the Sandhi region is set to undergo a more extended maintenance phase, with daily power cuts scheduled from April 17 through April 19, between 8 am and 2 pm.

JPDCL has urged consumers to plan their daily activities accordingly and expressed regret for the temporary inconvenience caused by these necessary technical improvements to the power grid.
