Jammu Police Chief Reviews Security Strategy Ahead of Independence Day 2026
JAMMU, AUGUST 09 — Inspector General of Police Bhim Sen Tuti chaired a high-level security review meeting at the Zonal Police Headquarters in Jammu to finalize security and policing arrangements for the upcoming Independence Day 2026 celebrations across the region.
The session was co-chaired by Inspector General BSF Jammu Frontier Asif Jalal and Inspector General CRPF Jammu Sector Amol V Homkar. Senior officials from the Central Armed Police Forces, Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and central intelligence agencies were in attendance to align inter-agency protocols.
The discussions covered the region’s overall security environment, comprehensive threat assessments, counter-terrorism measures, border surveillance, and area domination strategies. Officers evaluated deployment plans, traffic management, protection protocols for vital installations, and contingency readiness to ensure full preparation across all venues hosting public events during the celebrations.
During the meeting, the Jammu police chief directed officers to maintain maximum alertness and foster real-time intelligence coordination among all security forces. He highlighted the need for enhanced surveillance in sensitive zones, intensified joint check posts, and robust access control measures.
The participating agencies reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining strict vigilance, strengthening quick response capabilities, and ensuring peaceful Independence Day celebrations across the Jammu Zone.
