Gajraj Corps Commander meets veterans in Sonitpur to discuss welfare and career initiatives

TEZPUR, April 29, 2026:- Neeraj Shukla, the General Officer Commanding of the Gajraj Corps, held an interactive session today with veterans of the Sonitpur district in Tezpur, Assam.

The meeting provided a meaningful platform to acknowledge the invaluable service of the retired personnel and to further solidify the enduring relationship between the Indian Army and its veteran community.

During the engagement, the commander emphasized that the welfare of ex-servicemen remains a top priority for the armed forces, ensuring that their contributions to the nation are continuously honored and supported through active dialogue.

During the interaction, veterans were briefed on the various facilities and professional support offered by the Army Welfare Placement Organisation.

This included detailed information on diverse employment opportunities made available through several memorandums of understanding signed by the army with corporate and public sectors.

Furthermore, the veterans were updated on specialized coaching initiatives designed for the children of both serving personnel and ex-servicemen.

These programs, which prepare students for entry into the National Defence Academy, Indian Military Academy, and Sainik Schools, have been expanded across the Sonitpur district to provide better access to quality guidance and broaden career prospects for the next generation.
