Baramulla Police Attach Property Worth Over 69 Lakh Rupees in 2008 Militancy Case
BARAMULLA, August 09, 2026 — Baramulla Police attached property worth nearly 70 lakh rupees and obtained an arrest warrant against a key suspect in connection with a 2008 militancy-related case.
The action was taken after securing necessary orders from the Special National Investigation Agency court in Sopore.The attached property comprises land measuring 12 kanal, 1 marla, and 73 square feet, valued at 69,82,550 rupees. The property belongs to Parvaiz Ahmad Famda, a resident of Kawhar Bala, Chandoosa, who is an accused in the case registered under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, the Ranbir Penal Code, and the EIMCO Act at Chandoosa police station.
In a related development in the same case, the court also issued an arrest warrant against co-accused Abdul Rashid Bhat, a resident of Rajpora, Chandoosa. Law enforcement officials stated that these strict legal measures aim to dismantle networks involved in unlawful and anti-national activities and ensure justice is served according to the law.
