Manipur Police Recover Firearms and Hand Grenades in Imphal East Search Operation
IMPHAL, August 09, 2026 — Manipur Police recovered a cache of arms and ammunition during a search operation conducted at the foothills of Potshangbam Khunou under the jurisdiction of Heingang Police Station in Imphal East district.
During the search operation, police recovered a .32 pistol along with a magazine, one locally made barrel gun, and 20 hand grenades. The recovery is part of ongoing efforts by security forces to disarm conflict zones and restore peace in the region.
