Air Marshal Tejinder Singh visits 13 Grenadiers to honor unit legacy and inter-service ties
GANDHINAGAR, May 10, 2026:- Air Marshal Tejinder Singh, the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Air Command, paid a significant visit to the 13 Grenadiers, a unit distinguished by its historic title as the Ganga Jaisalmer Risala.
The visit held deep personal and professional meaning for the Air Marshal, who served alongside this specific unit at the Siachen Glacier in 1989 during Operation Meghdoot.
This return to the unit allowed for a unique reunion as he interacted with current personnel of all ranks and met with several veterans who were deployed with him during that challenging high-altitude operation.
During his visit, the Air Marshal emphasized the critical importance of inter-service cooperation and the seamless professionalism shared between the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force.
