Climate Activist Sonam Wangchuk Arrested, Internet Disrupted in Leh

LEH 26 September :- Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk was detained by the Ladakh police on Friday as the security was beefed up throughout the region. The arrest was carried out by a team headed by Police Chief of Ladakh (DGP) S D Singh Jamwal. It was not immediately clear about the charges pressed against Wangchuk Internet services in Leh were subsequently suspended as a precautionary measure to ensure law and order as per Sources .

              The process comes a day after Wednesday’s deadly clashes during a bandh organized by the Leh Apex Body (LAB) to protest Ladakh statehood and Sixth Schedule inclusion. The agitation took a deadly turn, with four fatalities and close to 90 injured, as police arrested about 50 persons associated with violence.Earlier  Ministry of Home Affairs NGO registration of Sonam  was also withdrawn.  Rest Details awaited
