Operation Sindoor Proved India Will Go to Any Extent to Ensure Citizen Safety Says Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

NEW DELHI, AUG 9 — Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the Sindoor Maharaktadan Yatra blood donation camp at Base Hospital in Delhi Cantt, stating that Operation Sindoor sent a clear global message regarding India’s commitment to protecting its citizens.

Speaking at the event, he commended the Indian Defence Forces for their resolute action against terrorists and their handlers based in Pakistan, highlighting that the military operation represented unmatched valour while the blood donation camp symbolized compassion.

The event saw significant participation, including nearly 1,000 wrestlers and athletes from Maharashtra who joined as voluntary blood donors to show solidarity with the armed forces. Emphasizing that there is no artificial substitute for human blood, the defence minister described blood donation as a noble act of service and noted that the collected reserve would support soldiers and their families during medical emergencies.

He also urged the youth to prioritize physical fitness through national initiatives like Fit India and Khelo India, connecting healthy living to the ability to serve the country.

The ceremony was attended by key dignitaries, including Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Union Minister of State for Ayush Pratap Rao Jadhav, Chief of the Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth, and Director General Armed Forces Medical Services Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin.

Officials highlighted that maintaining robust blood reserves is critical for military hospitals to address both routine healthcare needs and operational emergencies.
