Pulwama Har Ghar Tiranga Rally 2026: Thousands Gather in Tral to Celebrate National Unity Ahead of Independence Day

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 09, 2026: In a vibrant display of unity and patriotic fervor, thousands of local residents poured onto the streets of Pulwama district today to participate in a massive Har Ghar Tiranga rally.Organized by the District Administration of Pulwama in the Tral area, the procession brought together people from all walks of life—including youth, community leaders, and local residents—to celebrate the national flag as a symbol of collective pride and heritage ahead of India’s 80th Independence Day celebrations.

The march commenced from Bajwani Sports Stadium in Tral and proceeded through key thoroughfares before peacefully culminating at the Bus Stand in Tral. High-ranking officials, including Pulwama Deputy Commissioner Basharat Qayoom, Tral Member of Legislative Assembly Rafiq Ahmad Naik, and Awantipora Senior Superintendent of Police, led the contingent alongside senior civil and police administrators. Carrying the Tricolour overhead, participants filled the air with patriotic slogans, creating an energetic atmosphere focused on national solidarity and shared identity.

Today’s event marks the official rollout of the week-long Har Ghar Tiranga campaign in the region, running through August 17. The nationwide initiative aims to inspire citizens to hoist the National Flag at their homes and engage in community-driven events reflecting India’s rich cultural heritage.Originally launched in 2022 under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav banner, the initiative has grown into a major public engagement drive, bridging communities and deepening civic connection to the Indian Flag across the country.
