Jammu Mining Department Seizes Vehicles in Major Crackdown Against Illegal Extraction
JAMMU, AUGUST 08 — The Mining Department carried out targeted enforcement drives across multiple locations in the Jammu district to curb the illegal extraction and transportation of minor minerals. Under the direction of District Mineral Officer Naveen Kumar, officials intercepted and seized several vehicles and heavy machinery found operating in violation of mining regulations.
The seized equipment includes two JCB machines and one tractor-trolley placed in safe custody at Phallian Chowki, alongside three dumpers impounded across the Kulian and Phaleian police posts.All seized machinery and vehicles have been taken into official custody for further legal proceedings in accordance with statutory mining rules.
District Mineral Officer Naveen Kumar emphasized that strict enforcement measures against unauthorized mining activities will remain ongoing across the district to protect natural resources. The Mining Department has warned all equipment operators and vehicle owners to secure necessary permissions and strictly adhere to environmental regulations or face immediate legal sanctions.
