Doda Police Arrest Fugitive Wanted in POCSO Act Case

DODA, AUGUST 08 — District Police Doda arrested a long-wanted absconder in connection with a sexual offenses case registered at Police Station Doda. The accused, Shamas Din, a resident of Bhata Chaka in Tehsil and District Doda, was evading law enforcement under FIR No. 262/2024 involving charges under Sections 137 and 64 of the BNS alongside Sections 3 and 4 of the POCSO Act.

A General Warrant of Arrest had previously been issued against him by the Principal Sessions Judge Court in Bhaderwah in August 2025.Acting on credible intelligence, a team led by the Incharge Police Post Khellani executed the operation and apprehended the suspect under the supervision of senior police leadership.

Following his arrest, the accused was produced before the Principal Sessions Judge Court in Bhaderwah and subsequently remanded to District Jail Bhaderwah in accordance with judicial orders. District Police Doda reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing fugitives and ensuring that individuals attempting to evade the legal process face justice.
