Jal Shakti Minister Reviews Water Infrastructure Projects in Zadibal Constituency

Srinagar, July 31, 2026 — Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs Javed Ahmed Rana today chaired a review meeting at the Civil Secretariat to assess the progress of drinking water supply and allied infrastructure projects in the Zadibal constituency.

Attended by Zadibal MLA Tanvir Sadiq and Chief Engineer of Jal Shakti Kashmir alongside senior officials, the meeting focused on resolving local water issues and accelerating ongoing development. Rana instructed officers to prioritize the matters raised by the MLA and expedite near-complete projects to ensure timely commissioning for public benefit.

Emphasizing the need for uninterrupted and equitable drinking water access across the region, the Minister directed department heads to eliminate project bottlenecks, bridge supply gaps in underserved areas, and conduct routine water quality testing.

He stressed the importance of strict resource management, fund optimization, and maintaining high execution standards. Reaffirming the government’s commitment to modernizing water infrastructure across Jammu and Kashmir, Rana called for seamless inter-departmental coordination to prevent avoidable delays and safeguard public welfare.
