Army Chief Launches Indigenous Xtreme Weather Grade Diesel in New Delhi

NEW DELHI July 31 — Chief of the Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth today launched the indigenously developed Xtreme Weather Grade Diesel in New Delhi to enhance the mobility, safety, and operational readiness of combat and logistics vehicles in extreme climates.

Jointly developed by the Indian Army and Oil Marketing Companies within a year, the specialized fuel remains effective at temperatures as low as 180°C below freezing (-42°C) without requiring any engine modifications to the existing fleet.

While eliminating traditional winter maintenance practices to boost safety and morale for military personnel, this BS-VI compliant technology also advances Atmanirbhar Bharat by offering significant benefits to civilian vehicles operating in high-altitude and severe winter regions.
