Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026 registration and facilities reviewed by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor
JAMMU, JULY 15, 2026:- Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu today to review the services and facilities established for the ongoing Amarnath Yatra.
During his visit, Sinha interacted with officials from the police, army, security forces, shrine board, and civil administration to assess the measures implemented for the comfortable stay of the pilgrims. He commended the hard work of the personnel and urged them to treat every yatri as a divine guest.
With the annual pilgrimage crossing the three lakh mark in just twelve days, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized that ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience for the devotees remains the top priority.The Lieutenant Governor directed officials to ensure flawless registration, comfortable lodging, and smooth travel arrangements for all devotees of Baba Barfani.
He also stressed the importance of showcasing the Jammu region, instructing authorities to organize sightseeing tours to key spiritual and tourism destinations across the Jammu Division.
Furthermore, Sinha called for the active promotion of local handicraft and handloom products, stating that the goal is for pilgrims to return home with a piece of Jammu in the form of beautiful handmade items and unforgettable memories to make this year’s pilgrimage historic.
During the assessment, Sinha reviewed the deployment of food safety officers at community kitchens, facilities at reception and lodgement centers, on-spot registration counters, transportation, and security arrangements. He directed officials to optimize manpower deployment to manage the heavy influx of devotees and urged them to closely monitor weather predictions from the Meteorological Department to stay alert to any changes.
Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar briefed the meeting on legal actions initiated against individuals involved in fraudulent practices, prompting the Lieutenant Governor to order strict administrative and legal measures against any official found involved in misconduct. Sinha also interacted with the devotees to wish them a safe and blessed journey, accompanied by senior administrative and security officials.
