Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026: CISF DG Praveer Ranjan Reviews Security Arrangements at Nunwan Base Camp
PAHALGAM, JULY 12, 2026 — Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Director General Praveer Ranjan, alongside Additional Director General (North) Sudhir Kumar and Deputy Inspector General (NZ-II) M. K. Yadav, visited the Nunwan Base Camp in Pahalgam to conduct a comprehensive review of security arrangements for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.
This high-level assessment focused on crucial security parameters, including personnel deployment plans, strict access control measures, advanced surveillance systems, robust communication networks, medical support infrastructure, logistics, and inter-agency coordination, all aimed at ensuring the safety and security of the pilgrims.
During the operational assessment, the Director General inspected vital security installations, including checkpoints, communication centers, Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs), Quick Action Teams (QATs), and the CCTV Control Room. Ranjan interacted directly with deployed personnel, healthcare workers, and female security officers, praising their professionalism and dedication. He emphasized the critical need for continuous vigilance, strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), high operational readiness, and seamless collaboration among all active security forces to maintain a secure environment throughout the pilgrimage.
To streamline multi-agency operations, the Director General chaired a high-level security review meeting attended by senior officers from the CISF, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the civil administration. The meeting evaluated the overall security architecture and logistical preparedness of the ongoing yatra.
