Territorial Army ecological task force battalion concludes week long Van Mahotsav plantation drive

PRAYAGRAJ, July 8: The 137 Composite Ecological Task Force Battalion Territorial Army, 39 Gorkha Rifles, has successfully concluded its week-long Van Mahotsav Week 2026 celebrations.

The environment initiative, which ran from July 1 to July 7, featured extensive plantation drives and environmental awareness activities across multiple major cities, including Prayagraj, Varanasi, Kanpur, Delhi, and Lucknow.

Every sapling planted during the campaign represents a firm commitment toward building a cleaner, greener, and sustainable future.The week-long campaign witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 4,500 students, teachers, National Cadet Corps cadets, and community volunteers, resulting in the successful planting of 4,860 saplings.

This green initiative reflects the active commitment of the Indian Army toward environmental conservation and ecological restoration.

It also aligns with key national sustainability missions, including Namami Gange, Mission LiFE, and Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, aiming to plant hope today and preserve the planet for tomorrow.
