Counter Intelligence Kashmir raids two houses in Srinagar linked to Pakistan based accused in UAPA case

SRINAGAR, July 8: The Counter Intelligence Kashmir on Wednesday conducted simultaneous searches at two residential houses in Srinagar in connection with a case registered under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code and the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.

Officials stated that one of the searches was carried out in the Bagh-i-Mehtab area at the residence of Altaf Ahmad Bhat, who has been residing in Pakistan since 1990.Simultaneously, another Counter Intelligence Kashmir team conducted a search at Sheikh-ul-Alam Colony in Nowgam at the residence of Mukhtar Ahmad Baba, who has been residing in Pakistan since 2022.

The raids were conducted in connection with FIR Number 04/2026 registered at the Counter Intelligence Kashmir Police Station in Srinagar under Sections 505 and 153A of the Indian Penal Code, along with Sections 13 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.

Authorities indicated that further details will be shared as the investigation progresses.
