Indian Army tests mobile medical unit for ex servicemen in Madhya Pradesh
JABALPUR, July 5, 2026 :- The Indian Army has successfully wrapped up the final trials for its new Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme mobile medical unit in Madhya Pradesh. Run by the Madhya Bharat Area Headquarters and the Station Cell Jabalpur, the initiative aims to bring reliable healthcare directly to veterans living in remote areas. The second and final trial run traveled from the Jabalpur polyclinic to Chhindwara to test its operational readiness.
Working alongside the District Soldiers Welfare Office, the mobile medical team set up an outpatient department during the trial run. They provided on-site medical consultations and distributed necessary medicines to 52 local veterans and their families.
The initiative received a highly positive response from the local veteran community, who often face challenges accessing urban healthcare facilities.With the trial phase now complete, the mobile medical unit is fully prepared for its official launch.
This initiative reinforces the commitment of the Indian Army to looking after its retired personnel by ensuring that quality medical care is both accessible and convenient for those who served the nation.
