Indian Army Launches Electrician and Welding Skill Training Course for Kishtwar Youth in Malar
KISHTWAR, JULY 5, 2026 — In a major push toward youth empowerment and self-reliance in remote regions, the Indian Army officially inaugurated a specialized two-week Electrician and Welding Course in Malar Village, located in the Kishtwar district. Scheduled to run until July 18, 2026, the comprehensive skill development program is specifically designed to provide practical, hands-on technical training to unemployed youth from the local community.
Under the close guidance of certified professional instructors, the curriculum focuses on fundamental electrical engineering concepts and essential welding skills, effectively equipping participants with useful technical knowledge to enhance their overall market employability and unlock future self-employment opportunities. Highlighting a highly positive response from the local population, a total of 12 young individuals have formally registered for the inaugural batch.
The community-centric initiative has drawn immense appreciation from village elders and local residents, who have urged the Indian Army to conduct such livelihood-generation and vocational training programs on a regular basis to foster long-term socio-economic growth in the area.
