Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister flags off Op Arunoday trekking expedition
TAWANG June 28,2026 — Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh flagged off Op Arunoday from the historic Jaswantgarh War Memorial.
The unique initiative, jointly organized by the Gajraj Corps and the National Institute of Mountaineering and Adventure Sports, aims to open a new trekking route between Thingbu and Bajrang Peak at an altitude of 5,583 meters.
The project is designed to foster adventure tourism in the region, strengthen the partnership between civilians and the military, and create sustainable livelihood opportunities for local communities.
The flag-off ceremony commenced with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the war memorial to honor fallen soldiers.
Following the tribute, officials interacted with members of the expedition team and local residents, marking the official beginning of this first-of-its-kind civil-military collaboration dedicated to regional development and nation-building.
