Vishan Swaroop Sharma DIG Estt Retires After 33 Years of Dedicated CRPF Service
NEW DELHI, MAY 29,2026 — The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) hosted a warm sendoff ceremony at the Force Headquarters to honor DIG (Estt) Vishan Swaroop Sharma on his superannuation. Belonging to the distinguished 23rd Batch of CRPF officers, Sharma retired after more than 33 years of exemplary and dedicated service to the nation. Throughout his highly decorated career, he excelled in a wide array of diverse and challenging roles, which included serving with distinction in the United Nations Mission in Bosnia.
His exceptional contributions and commitment to duty were officially recognized when he was awarded the prestigious President’s Medal for Distinguished Service. Known for his calm, composed leadership and strategic acumen, Sharma leaves behind a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire the force for years to come.
