Major Administrative Reshuffle in J&K Transport Department: Several ARTOs Transferred
SRINAGAR, April 16, 2026:- The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has ordered a series of transfers and postings within the Transport Department to streamline administrative functions.

According to the official order issued by the Civil Secretariat, these changes involve Assistant Regional Transport Officers and are effective immediately.
Among the key shifts, Mehnaz Chisti, who previously served as ARTO Pulwama, has been moved to the position of ARTO at the Srinagar headquarters.
In a corresponding move, Mohammad Shafait has been transferred from his post in Kupwara to take over the responsibilities of ARTO Pulwama.
Furthermore, Anis Ahmad Wani, who was stationed at the Srinagar headquarters, has been reassigned to Shopian.
This new appointment also relieves the ARTO of Kulgam from his additional charge of that post. To ensure continuity in services, the government has directed the ARTO Baramulla to hold the additional charge of ARTO Kupwara until further notice.
The official directive was issued by Avny Lavasa, Secretary to the Government for the Transport Department.This reshuffle is part of the ongoing efforts by the administration to enhance the efficiency of regional transport operations across the Kashmir valley.
