NEW DELHI | February 10, 2026 — In a major crackdown on administrative corruption, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the Delhi Police for allegedly demanding and accepting an illegal bribe.
The accused officer, posted at the Paschim Vihar Police Station, was apprehended following a strategic trap operation. The CBI registered the case on February 7, 2026, after receiving a complaint alleging that the ASI had demanded Rs. 25,000 to facilitate bail for the complainant’s brother.
To coerce the payment, the officer reportedly threatened to implicate the complainant in additional fraudulent cases.The federal agency successfully executed a sting operation on the same day the complaint was filed, catching the officer red-handed while he was accepting a bribe amount of Rs. 15,000.
