JAMMU — February 09, 2026:- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday issued a stern directive to the Jammu and Kashmir Police to strike decisively against terrorism and work in close coordination with every member of society to completely dismantle the existing terror network.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the J&K Police’s Martyrs Memorial Hockey Tournament at the KK Hakku Hockey Stadium in Jammu, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized that the unbreakable resolve of the police force serves as a powerful message to the nation that no adversity can crack the spirit of the Union Territory. He asserted that the administration and security forces will cross every barrier to achieve new milestones in peace and development, ensuring that the sacrifices made by brave personnel are honored through the total elimination of extremist elements.
The tournament, which returns after a hiatus of more than a decade, features 14 competing teams and serves as a living tribute to the police personnel who prioritized national honor over their own lives. Lieutenant Governor Sinha observed that a true tribute to these bravehearts is one that pulses with life and inspires future generations rather than fading into the past. He highlighted that the martyrs embodied a philosophy of duty and self-sacrifice, and it remains the collective responsibility of the government and society to pass these values on to the youth.
By building strong character among the younger generation, the administration aims to create a resilient social fabric that is immune to the influence of radicalization and violence.In addition to the fight against terrorism, the Lieutenant Governor lauded the J&K Police for their Civic Action Program, describing it as a transformative mindset rather than just a government scheme. He noted that lasting peace is the result of mutual trust and that security is inherently strengthened through community involvement and healthy relationships between the public and the police.
Furthermore, he called upon all sections of society to rise against the menace of drug abuse, reaffirming a vow for a drug-free Jammu and Kashmir. He concluded by reiterating a commitment to providing the youth with better resources and platforms, ensuring their energy is directed toward constructive dreams and a brighter future for the region.
