PULWAMA — February 09, 2026The Pulwama Police have achieved a major breakthrough in a recent theft investigation, successfully recovering stolen property and apprehending the primary suspect involved. The case, registered under FIR No. 18/26 pursuant to Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), centered on the theft of industrial cable by unidentified offenders.
Following a rigorous investigative process, authorities managed to track down the stolen material and identify the logistics used in the crime.During the operation, police seized two vehicles utilized to transport the stolen goods: a Tata Mobile (registration JK03H-3944) and a “Chota Hathi” (registration JK13H-7042). The primary accused has been identified as Muzafar Ahmad Padroo, son of Abdul Rashid Padroo and a resident of Bandepora.
Padroo was taken into custody shortly after the recovery of the stolen cable, marking a significant step in the department’s efforts to curb property-related crimes in the district.While the main suspect is currently in detention, the Pulwama Police have stated that the investigation remains active.
Authorities are working to ascertain additional facts and determine if other individuals were involved in the conspiracy or the execution of the theft. Reaffirming their stance on public safety, the police department emphasized that strict legal action will continue against anyone threatening the security of public and private property.
