Lethal Mistake Cost Four Lives including a CRPF personal on NH 44 Udhampur, Bus hit Motorcycle and Parked load Carrier

Udhampur 27 January 2026 :- A routine morning turned into a scene of absolute carnage on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway today when a catastrophic multi-vehicle collision claimed four lives and left a woman fighting for her survival.

As Per primary Reports The tragedy, which occurred near the Sharda Mata Temple in Kheri, Udhampur, involved a passenger bus, a wrong-way motorcycle, and a stationary Load Carrier vehicle, leading to a chain reaction of fatal events that has sent shockwaves through the region.

The chaos began around 10:50 AM when a bus heading toward Udhampur reportedly swerved to avoid a motorcycle traveling on the wrong side of the road. The resulting impact was so violent that the bus lost control, crashing into a stationary Mahindra load carrier that was undergoing repairs on the roadside.

The force of the sudden braking and subsequent collision ejected passengers from the bus; among them was Mukesh Prajapati, a dedicated CRPF Jawan from the 52nd Battalion in Kishtwar, who tragically lost his life in the fall.

The incident also claimed the lives of the motorcyclist, a mechanic working on the roadside vehicle, and another passenger. The deceased have been identified as Sanjeev Kumar (42), Rayes Ahmed, the CRPF Jawan Mukesh Prajapati, and one other individual whose identity is being verified.

A 37-year-old woman, Bimla Devi, sustained critical injuries and is currently undergoing emergency treatment at the Government Medical College (GMC) Udhampur.While the dead bodies have been shifted to the mortuary for post-mortem formalities, the driver of the bus reportedly fled the scene immediately after the crash.

Police have registered a formal case and launched an intensive manhunt to apprehend the driver as investigations into the exact cause of the tragedy continue.
