KATHUA, January 12, 2026 — Security agencies have been placed on high alert in the Kathua district after a suspicious balloon carrying the initials “PIA” (Pakistan International Airlines) was discovered in an open field earlier today.
The balloon was spotted by local residents in the Chakk Chhabba area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Rajbagh Police Station. Upon noticing the unusual object marked with the logo of the Pakistani national carrier, locals immediately alerted the authorities.
A police team rushed to the spot, cordoned off the area, and took the balloon into their possession for further forensic examination.Police registered the case and further investigation going on.
