Jammu Police Shatter Drug Syndicates in 2025: Heroin Worth ₹60 Crore Seized and 311 Arrested

JAMMU, JANUARY 03, 2026 — District Police Jammu has recorded a landmark year in its “War Against Drugs,” achieving unprecedented success through a zero-tolerance policy that integrated intelligence-led operations with aggressive financial dismantling. Throughout 2025, authorities registered 204 FIRs under the NDPS Act, leading to the arrest of 311 accused individuals, including 35 women drug peddlers.

The crackdown specifically targeted organized networks, resulting in the detection of 11 commercial-quantity cases and the detention of 11 hardcore offenders under the stringent PIT NDPS Act.The scale of narcotics recovery underscores the magnitude of the police breakthrough.

Officers seized over 15 kilograms of high-grade heroin (Chitta), valued at approximately ₹60 crore in the international market, along with 78 kg of ganja and 114 kg of poppy straw. To break the economic backbone of these syndicates, Jammu Police moved beyond simple arrests to target “narcotics proceeds.”

This resulted in the attachment of properties worth over ₹97 lakh and the demolition of 23 drug-linked illegal structures across three identified hotspots within the district.Beyond enforcement, the department prioritized rehabilitation and prevention.

The Police Drug De-addiction & Rehabilitation Centre in Channi, Jammu, provided care to 1,667 OPD patients and admitted 311 individuals for intensive recovery. Simultaneously, over 469 IEC campaigns and hundreds of community meetings were held to educate the youth. In a transparent display of enforcement, authorities destroyed several quintals of seized contraband, including over 5,000 kg of poppy straw and thousands of psychotropic capsules.

Jammu Police have urged the public to continue this momentum by reporting suspicious activities to the 100 helpline, promising strict confidentiality for all informants.
