J&K Bank Launches ‘Heart Clinic on Wheels’: Mobile Cardiac-Care Unit to Serve Remote Areas Under CSR Initiative

Srinagar January 01, 2026:- In a landmark New Year welfare initiative, J&K Bank has officially dedicated a state-of-the-art ‘Heart Clinic on Wheels’ to the people of Jammu & Kashmir. Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, the Bank’s Executive Director, Sudhir Gupta, handed over the keys of the mobile cardiac-care unit to Dr. Zubair Saleem, Regional Head of the Ummeed Foundation.

The project aims to bridge the critical healthcare gap in geographically challenging and underserved border districts, bringing life-saving diagnostic and emergency services directly to the doorsteps of those in need. In its inaugural year, the fully-funded project is set to screen over 5,000 high-risk individuals, including elderly citizens and defense personnel, with plans to benefit tens of thousands more in the coming years.

The mobile unit is designed as a comprehensive single-stop cardiac emergency facility. It is equipped with advanced AI-enabled diagnostic systems for real-time clinical decision-making, alongside a ventilator, defibrillator, and essential cardiac support systems for immediate patient stabilization.

The “Heart Clinic on Wheels” allows for instant medical investigations, including ECG, Holter monitoring, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, and rapid blood tests like lipid profiles. Beyond immediate treatment, the initiative focuses on prevention through community health worker training, public awareness programs, and the creation of a digital health registry to ensure long-term continuity of care.

Executive Director Sudhir Gupta emphasized that this intervention aligns with the Bank’s mission of “serving-to-empower” and supports global Sustainable Development Goals regarding health and well-being.

Project Advisor and senior cardiologist Dr. Khursheed Aslam Khan noted that the unit’s ability to provide evidence-based treatment and structured referrals to higher medical centers will be a game-changer for cardiac survival rates in remote regions.

By combining screening, counseling, and rapid intervention, J&K Bank and the Ummeed Foundation are fostering an inclusive healthcare model that prioritizes the safety and dignity of the UT’s most vulnerable populations.
