DGP Nalin Parbhat Reviews Crime Branch J&K Operations; Releases ‘Cyber Shield’ Booklet

JAMMU, December 21, 2025 — Director General of Police (DGP) J&K, Nalin Parbhat-IPS, conducted a high-level visit to the Crime Branch J&K headquarters in Jammu today to evaluate the department’s performance and strategic roadmap.

Upon his arrival, the DGP was received by Sujit Kumar-IPS, IGP Crime Branch/Security J&K, followed by an inspection of all specialized wings within the complex. A significant highlight of the visit was the release of a specialized booklet titled “Cyber Shield,” a strategic initiative aimed at strengthening the region’s defenses against evolving digital crimes.

The visit featured a hybrid meeting, with key officials from Srinagar joining via video conferencing to ensure a comprehensive review of the state’s criminal investigation landscape.During the session, a detailed presentation was showcased, highlighting the Crime Branch’s achievements in 2025 regarding the disposal of FIRs and public complaints.

The DGP reviewed the functioning of various specialized units, including the Economic Offences Wing (EOW), the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), and the Cyber Investigation Center for Excellence (CICE). DGP Parbhat expressed his satisfaction with the overall progress but issued firm directives for further accelerating case disposals and enhancing the quality of investigations to ensure timely justice for the public.

He emphasized that the integration of technology and forensic excellence, such as the work done by the Fingerprint Bureau, remains vital to modern policing.In recognition of exceptional service, the DGP awarded several officers for their outstanding performance throughout the year.

The awardees included DySP Vishal Sharma, DySP Albeena Malik, DySP Bhagwan Dass, DySP Jagpal Sharma, DySP Ab Hamid, DySP Mohammad Amin, and Inspectors Ashwani Kumar and Gurnam Choudhary. The visit concluded with a vote of thanks from DIG Crime Branch J&K, Abdul Qayoom-IPS, who assured that the DGP’s directions would be implemented with renewed vigor to uphold the integrity and efficiency of the Crime Branch across the Union Territory.
