KULGAM, JUNE 09: In anticipation of the upcoming religious festival, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Shahzad Alam, conducted a comprehensive visit to the Mata Kheer Bhawani Asthapan in Manzgam today to review the on-ground arrangements. Accompanied by a high-level team including SDM Bashir-ul-Hassan, chief medical officers, tehsildars, and executive engineers, the Deputy Commissioner assessed the preparedness of various departments to ensure a smooth, secure, and successful conduct of the annual Mela.

During the inspection, senior officials from key civic utility sectors—including the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL), Jal Shakti (Water Resources), and the Health Department—briefed the DC on the specific measures being deployed to manage the influx of pilgrims. The departments outlined their strategies for uninterrupted power supply, safe drinking water availability, and robust medical assistance booths, ensuring all essential amenities are fully operational ahead of the festival.

Emphasizing the need for a seamless devotee experience, DC Shahzad Alam directed all participating departments to maintain tight coordination and execute their respective action plans well before the commencement of the event. He stressed that public safety and convenience remain the administration’s top priorities. Before concluding the visit, the Deputy Commissioner also held an interactive session with the temple management committee, reassuring them of the administration’s unwavering support to facilitate a peaceful and memorable Mela Kheer Bhawani.
