Manipur Police and SBI Hand Over 1 Crore to Family of Late Constable Soibam Sanjit Singh
IMPHAL, May 6, 2026 — The family of late Constable Soibam Sanjit Singh received a sum of 1 crore on Wednesday as part of the Police Salary Package scheme. This financial assistance follows a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Manipur Police and the State Bank of India in October 2024.
Sanjit Singh, who was known for his sincerity and dedication, tragically lost his life in July 2025 while performing his official duties at Sagoltongba in the Imphal West district.
A formal ceremony was held at the office of the Superintendent of Police, Imphal West, to hand over the insurance cheque. The event was attended by Additional Director General of Police L Kailun and other senior officials, while Regional Manager of SBI Imphal, Kh Okendra Singh, presented the cheque to the bereaved family.
The department noted that the untimely demise of the constable remains a profound loss to both the police force and the general public he served with unwavering commitment.Manipur Police expressed sincere gratitude to the State Bank of India for providing timely support and standing in solidarity with the family during this difficult time.
