Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurates District Emergency Operations Centre and Shri Amarnath Yatra Control Room in Ganderbal
GANDERBAL June 05,2026 — Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the District Emergency Operations Centre and the Shri Amarnathji Yatra Control Room at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Ganderbal. Speaking at the inauguration, the Lieutenant Governor stated that these newly established facilities are designed to ensure a smooth, safe, and seamless pilgrimage experience for the upcoming annual Shri Amarnathji Yatra.
Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Jatin Kishore briefed the Lieutenant Governor on the core features and capabilities of the state-of-the-art facility.The centralized operations center pools real-time CCTV feeds from across the Ganderbal district, integrating surveillance networks installed by the district administration, local police, and other security forces into a single monitoring location.
To enhance pilgrim safety, the system integrates live video feeds from the Baltal Base Camp, its approach roads, nearby parking areas, and transit camps in Sonamarg and Manigam. Backed by a round-the-clock emergency citizen helpline for immediate assistance and crisis mitigation, the center will serve as an instrumental hub for strategic planning and real-time decision-making throughout the annual pilgrimage.
