Indian Army Uttar Bharat Area celebrates 80th raising day

BAREILLY, June 1, 2026:- The Headquarters Uttar Bharat Area of the Indian Army marked a historic milestone today as it completed 80 years of service to the nation. Originally raised on June 1, 1946, as Headquarters UP Area, the formation has dedicated eight decades to maintaining unwavering commitment toward the security and sovereignty of India.

To commemorate this historic occasion, Lieutenant General DG Misra, General Officer Commanding Headquarters Uttar Bharat Area, paid a solemn tribute at the War Memorial. He laid a wreath to honour the immortal heroes who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty for the motherland.

The day served as an occasion to recognize the courage and legacy of the fallen soldiers, which continues to fuel the resolve of the formation. The leadership extended heartfelt wishes and salutations to every soldier, veteran, and military family who has contributed to and strengthened this remarkable journey of duty, honour, and nation-first service over the last 80 years.
