First batch of Amarnath Yatra pilgrims arrives at Nunwan base camp in Pahalgam

ANANTNAG, July 2, 2026 — The first batch of Amarnath Ji Yatra pilgrims travelling through the Pahalgam axis arrived at the Nunwan base camp amid deep spiritual fervor. The yatris were warmly welcomed by Anantnag Deputy Commissioner and Yatra Officer Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, Senior Superintendent of Police Amod Ashok Nagpure, Camp Director Atul Kumar, senior civil and police administration officers, and representatives from various socio-religious organizations. While interacting with the devotees, the administration officers wished them a smooth and blissful journey to the holy cave.

Earlier in the day, the pilgrims were also accorded a grand reception with the showering of flowers at the Walnut Factory in Qazigund by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Dooru along with senior officials.The arriving pilgrims were provided immediate assistance regarding accommodation, langars, and other essential services at the reception ceremonies.

The administration has made comprehensive arrangements for the yatris, including accommodation, health care, transportation, sanitation, drinking water, and community kitchens. To ensure the ease and convenience of the devotees, various service providers have also made multiple essential items like SIM cards, clothing, trekking utilities, and footwear available at designated stations along the route.

The pilgrims expressed total satisfaction with the overall arrangements and showed immense enthusiasm as they prepared to commence their sacred pilgrimage to the holy cave in the early hours of July 3.
