Deputy Chief Minister Calls for Fast Tracking of Domel Katra Reasi Bambla Four Lane Road Project

JAMMU, April 21, 2026:- Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary has called for the expedited development of the Domel–Katra–Reasi–Bambla road project to significantly enhance regional connectivity.

While chairing a high-level review meeting to assess the progress of the Detailed Project Report, the Deputy Chief Minister highlighted that the proposed four-lane highway is a vital infrastructure initiative designed to reduce travel time and improve mobility across the Katra, Reasi, and Pouni regions.

He emphasized that the project must be inclusive, directing officials and consultants to ensure that the road alignments and approach routes comprehensively cover major populated habitations to deliver maximum benefits to the local residents.

During the session, which included senior officials from PMGSY and the Planning department, the Deputy Chief Minister was briefed on technical aspects such as tunnel construction, land acquisition requirements, and cost implications.

He instructed the concerned departments to fast-track the engagement of consultancy services and finalize the project report to secure timely approvals.

Underscoring the government’s broader vision, he reiterated a firm commitment to establishing a seamless road network across Jammu and Kashmir, focusing on balanced and inclusive development to foster economic growth throughout the Union Territory.
