Algerian Military Delegation Visits 505 Army Base Workshop to Explore Tank Maintenance

NEW DELHI, May 05 — A high-level military delegation from Algeria, led by Nour Eddine Kaid, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, visited the 505 Army Base Workshop today to strengthen bilateral defence ties.

During the visit, the delegation received a comprehensive briefing on India’s indigenous capabilities regarding the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of heavy armored vehicles.

The engagement served as a platform to showcase India’s technical expertise in sustaining complex military hardware through domestic innovation.The delegation was given an extensive tour of the facilities dedicated to the overhaul of T-72 and T-90 tanks.

The visit highlighted the workshop’s proficiency in component-level repairs and the successful integration of indigenized solutions into the repair and overhaul process.

This exchange underscores the growing cooperation between India and Algeria in the defence sector, focusing on self-reliance and the sharing of advanced technical knowledge for armored vehicle sustainability.
