LEAD Unveils Third Annual Smarika, Showcasing Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh’s Growth Journey

JAMMU, AUGUST 06, 2026 — The LJK Economic Growth and Development Dialogue (LEAD) officially released the third edition of its Annual Smarika publication during a special ceremony hosted at the Amar Singh Club in Jammu.Serving as an extensive progress report and strategic roadmap, the document highlights LEAD’s work in facilitating inclusive economic growth, entrepreneurship, policy research, and sustainable development across the Union Territories of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh. The publication was unveiled by Chief Guest Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner of Jammu, alongside Guest of Honour Arun Kumar Manhas, Director of Industries & Commerce, Jammu. They were joined by prominent local business leaders, academicians, policymakers, and LEAD Board and Executive members.

The third edition offers a detailed overview of the organization’s achievements over the past year, showcasing key programs across startup promotion, rural livelihoods, agriculture, tourism, skill development, youth engagement, and environmental conservation. During the event, LEAD Convenor Harinder Gupta reaffirmed the think tank’s dedication to evidence-based policy research, supporting grassroots enterprise development, and building strong collaborative networks across government institutions, industry bodies, and civil society. Director Arun Kumar Manhas commended LEAD’s efforts and reiterated the Industries & Commerce Department’s ongoing support for its local economic initiatives.

Highlighting LEAD’s wide-reaching community impact, Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar praised its flagship event, Mahotsav – Jammu Kashmir Ladakh, noting its vital role as a public platform that successfully highlights the region’s local culture, handicraft heritage, agriculture, tourism, and young entrepreneurs. Additionally, LEAD Board Member Sanjeev Sharma noted that the edition serves as a knowledge repository of best practices and insights, featuring a special cover message from Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressing support for LEAD’s vision. Following formal remarks, Board Member Raman Suri delivered the vote of thanks, and Event Coordinator Vishal Abrol anchored the proceedings. The event concluded with a shared commitment among attendees to continue building sustainable livelihood opportunities and resilient local economies throughout the region.
