Udhampur Police attaches assets worth 1.40 crore of Amritsar drug peddler

UDHAMPUR, July 17 — In a major crackdown under the Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyaan, the Udhampur Police has attached movable and immovable properties valued at 1.40 crore belonging to an Amritsar-based drug peddler.

The action was taken against Sharif, a resident of Nawinpind in Amritsar, Punjab, under Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.The seized assets include a Swift car, a newly constructed residential house, and land measuring one kanal and eight marlas.

The attachment was executed in connection with an active case registered under the NDPS Act at the Majalta Police Station.During the course of the investigation, authorities established that the properties were acquired using funds generated from the illicit narcotics trade.

The police department reiterated its commitment to dismantling the financial networks of drug syndicates to ensure a drug-free society.
