DIG Shiv Kumar Sharma reviews Amarnath Ji Yatra security in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, July 17 — Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Udhampur-Reasi Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma, chaired a fortnightly review meeting to evaluate the security arrangements for the ongoing Amarnath Ji Yatra.

The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Udhampur Amritpal Singh, along with additional and deputy superintendents, zonal officers, and company commanders of the Central Armed Police Forces deployed for yatra duties.The discussions primarily focused on assessing the effectiveness of enroute security measures, convoy management, area domination, and inter-agency coordination.

Officials reviewed overall operational preparedness to guarantee the safe and smooth movement of the pilgrim convoys through the region.During the meeting, Shiv Kumar Sharma gathered direct feedback from the officers stationed on the ground regarding their field requirements and operational challenges. He emphasized the need for constant vigilance, high alertness, and seamless coordination among all security forces.

He instructed all ranks to maintain robust security protocols and to respond swiftly to any developing situations to ensure the safety of the Amarnath Ji Yatra convoys within their respective jurisdictions.
