IMPHAL, July 16, 2026:The highly anticipated journey of the 135th edition of the Indian Oil Durand Cup officially commenced with a spectacular trophy tour flag-off ceremony in Manipur, underscoring the state’s profound impact on Indian football.
Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports, Govindas Konthoujam, ceremonially flagged off the iconic tournament trophies from the scenic location of Sendra. Escorted by the Thangjing Riders motorcycle club, the vibrant trophy tour traversed key locations, celebrating Manipur’s rich sporting heritage and inspiring the youth during a special stop at Manipur University.
The journey culminated in a grand reception in the capital city of Imphal, where Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla formally welcomed the trophies. The high-profile event was attended by Chief Minister Y.
