Shri Amarnath Yatra 15th Batch Leaves Jammu Base Camp with 5201 Pilgrims under Tight Security

JAMMU July 16, 2026 :- The fifteenth batch of pilgrims for the Shri Amarnath Yatra departed from the Jammu base camp early this morning under a tight security cover, heading towards the twin routes of Baltal and Pahalgam.

Security forces have deployed comprehensive measures along the transit routes to ensure a safe and secure passage for all devotees participating in the annual pilgrimage.

A total of 5,201 pilgrims are part of this batch, split across the two designated routes to the cave shrine.

The Baltal axis convoy comprises 1,745 yatris, which includes 1,240 men, 502 women, and 3 children.

The Pahalgam axis convoy carries a larger group of 3,456 individuals, consisting of 2,730 men, 622 women, 2 children, 92 sadhus, 9 sadvis, and 1 transgender person.

Collectively, the grand total of devotees moving towards the holy site includes 3,970 men, 1,124 women, 5 children, 92 sadhus, 9 sadvis, and 1 transgender person.

The logistical movement of the 15th batch is supported by a fleet of 191 vehicles traveling under strict monitoring. The Baltal route involves 74 vehicles, including 38 buses, 10 medium motor vehicles, 25 light motor vehicles, and 1 two-wheeler.

Meanwhile, the Pahalgam route is being traversed by 117 vehicles, consisting of 70 buses, 19 medium motor vehicles, and 28 light motor vehicles. In total, the convoy features 108 buses, 29 medium motor vehicles, 53 light motor vehicles, and 1 two-wheeler dedicated to ensuring the smooth transportation of the pilgrims.
