J&K Police Arrest Absconder in Kathua Evading Law for 7 Years

KATHUA, JULY 07: In a major breakthrough against elusive offenders, the Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kathua have successfully apprehended an absconder who had been evading arrest for the last seven years. Working under the direct supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kathua, Mohita Sharma (IPS), a dedicated team from the Billawar Police Station executed a long-standing Section 512 Cr.P.C. arrest warrant issued by the Hon’ble Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Court, Billawar, in connection with a criminal case dating back to 2019.

The successful operation was carried out by a law enforcement team led by the Station House Officer (SHO) Billawar, under the close guidance of the SP Ops Upper Kathua and SDPO Billawar. The arrested individual has been identified as Bhushan Kumar, son of Punnu Ram and a resident of Dhar Dugnoo, Tehsil Basholi, District Kathua. Kumar was a wanted accused in case FIR No. 68/2019, which was registered under Sections 380 and 511 of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC) at the Billawar Police Station. Following his apprehension, the absconder was produced before the court of law to formalize the execution of the judicial warrant, while further legal procedures remain underway.
