Rohama–Ladoora Road Project: Minister Javid Dar Reviews Fair Compensation for 26 Affected Families in Baramulla
BARAMULLA, JULY 7: Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Cooperative, and Election Department, Javid Ahmad Dar, chaired a high-profile review meeting in Baramulla today to assess the rehabilitation and compensation cases of 26 families whose residential and commercial structures are impacted by the alignment of the Rohama–Ladoora road project. The administrative review was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, local Tehsildars, the concerned Executive Engineer, and other senior district officers to ensure a coordinated approach to public welfare and infrastructure development.
During the session, Minister Dar conducted a thorough evaluation of the affected properties and the current progress of the structural assessment process. Emphasizing a fair, transparent, and time-bound strategy, he directed the concerned officers to execute immediate on-the-spot inspections and expedite the financial valuation of all affected buildings. Additionally, the Minister instructed Revenue authorities to meticulously verify the land status of each property, guaranteeing that every eligible family receives adequate compensation strictly in accordance with established rules. Reiterating the government’s commitment to balancing essential infrastructure growth with public welfare, he urged the district administration to fast-track all procedural formalities to prevent unnecessary delays. In response, the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla assured the Minister that prompt measures are underway to finalize the assessments and ensure that no genuine beneficiary faces undue hardship.
