J&K Police auction vehicles seized in drug cases at DPL Reasi under Nasha Mukt Abhiyan

REASI, Jul 7: District Police Reasi conducted a public auction of seized conveyances at the District Police Lines as part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan and in compliance with the NDPS Act. Four vehicles, including three four-wheelers and one motorcycle, which were seized in various drug-related cases, were disposed of after completing all legal formalities.

The auction was held transparently in the presence of the Drug Disposal Committee and interested bidders, fetching a total of 4,40,500 rupees to be deposited into the government account.

The public auction is part of a broader strategy by the district police to combat drug trafficking, which also includes registering cases against offenders, attaching properties acquired through illicit trade, canceling driving licenses of smugglers, and detaining habitual offenders under preventive laws.

Disposing of these vehicles prevents their deterioration while sending a strong deterrent message against narcotics offenses. The local police reiterated their commitment to eradicating drug abuse and urged citizens to cooperate by sharing information on illegal activities.
