CRPF Deploys Special Mountain Rescue Teams for Shri Amarnath Yatra Pilgrims on Baltal Route

Srinagar July 05:- In a significant step to enhance pilgrim safety during the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has deployed specially trained Mountain Rescue Teams (MRTs) along the Baltal axis to provide emergency assistance and medical support to devotees undertaking the sacred pilgrimage.

The dedicated rescue teams, comprising around 30 trained CRPF personnel, have been equipped with essential rescue and medical aid equipment, including oxygen cylinders, portable stretchers, ropes, medicines for high-altitude sickness, first-aid supplies, and drinking water.According to CRPF North Zone DIG Sudhir Kumar, the MRTs will be strategically positioned at key locations along the Baltal route to ensure swift response in emergencies.

The teams are tasked with assisting pilgrims facing health issues, exhaustion, altitude-related complications, injuries, or other challenges encountered during the arduous trek to the Holy Cave Shrine.CRPF Deputy Inspector General and Yatra Nodal Officer Sudhir Kumar stated that the rescue teams are fully prepared to provide timely medical assistance and evacuation support whenever required, ensuring the safety and well-being of pilgrims throughout their spiritual journey.

The initiative reflects the commitment of security forces to facilitate a safe, smooth, and comfortable pilgrimage experience. Alongside maintaining security, CRPF personnel continue to play a vital humanitarian role by extending assistance to devotees, particularly the elderly and those requiring medical attention, reinforcing the spirit of service during the revered Amarnath Yatra.
