Ramban motor vehicles department enforcement drive penalizes traffic violators on national highway

RAMBAN, JUNE 14 — The Motor Vehicles Department conducted a major enforcement drive at Maroog, Seri, and Chanderkote along National Highway-44 to ensure strict compliance with traffic regulations and enhance road safety.

The operation was carried out under the directions of the Transport Commissioner and supervised by Assistant Regional Transport Officer Varun Bhasin, resulting in the thorough checking of more than 75 vehicles.During the intensive highway crackdown, officials issued e-challans to 15 vehicles for various offenses, which are expected to attract a total penalty of 53,700 rupees. The detected violations included permit-related offenses, the operation of defective vehicles, and general traffic rule violations.

Furthermore, transport officials seized two defective vehicles and recommended two driving licenses for suspension due to serious violations like operating without valid permits.Assistant Regional Transport Officer Varun Bhasin urged vehicle owners, drivers, and commuters to strictly follow traffic regulations, maintain vehicles in roadworthy condition, and carry all valid documents to avoid legal action.

He added that the department, alongside the district police, will continue to conduct regular enforcement drives across the region to curb traffic violations and ensure safety for all road users.
