Punjab Police arrest two criminal associates with illegal weapons in Bathinda
BATHINDA — June 13, 2026The Anti-Gangster Task Force of the Punjab Police achieved a major breakthrough after apprehending two accused individuals in Bathinda.
During the operation, security officials recovered two country-made .32 bore pistols along with five live cartridges from the possession of the suspects.A preliminary investigation has revealed that both of the arrested individuals are closely linked to a criminal network operated by a jailed gangster who is currently active in the Ferozepur region.
The suspects have an extensive criminal background and have been previously involved in multiple criminal cases, including attempt to murder and various offences under the Arms Act.Following the arrests, law enforcement officials registered a formal case at the Civil Lines Police Station in Bathinda.
A detailed investigation is currently underway as police work to establish the backward and forward linkages of the criminal network and identify other associates involved in these illegal activities.
