Tragic Roof Collapse Injures 7 at Wedding in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi
REASI, JUNE 07,2026 — A festive atmosphere turned into chaos late Saturday night when a house collapsed during a wedding ceremony in the Mahore area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district.
According to local authorities, the incident occurred at around 9:30 PM on June 6, 2026, in the Malai Kot village of Mahore tehsil. A large gathering of guests had assembled inside a mud house (kacha house) to celebrate the wedding. Officials stated that the structure, unable to withstand the excessive weight of the large crowd, suddenly gave way and collapsed.
The sudden collapse triggered immediate panic among the attendees. Between six and seven people sustained injuries in the mishap and were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are currently receiving primary medical treatment.
