India successfully test fires indigenously developed RudraM II air to surface missile from fighter jet
NEW DELHI, June 2, 2026 :- India on Tuesday successfully carried out flight tests of the indigenously developed RudraM-II air-to-surface missile from an airborne platform. The Defence Research and Development Organisation and the Indian Air Force conducted the trial under extreme release conditions to validate the weapon system.
The flight test successfully established the capability of all subsystems after the missile followed a critical trajectory to meet its performance parameters. The Ministry of Defence confirmed that the weapon struck its designated target with high accuracy during the trial.
Flight data collected from various tracking systems later verified that the missile met all the objectives set for the test. The successful launch under demanding operational conditions validated the performance of the missile’s critical systems and flight control mechanisms.
This achievement marks a significant milestone as it adds to India’s growing portfolio of homegrown advanced weapon systems. The successful flight test underlines the ongoing efforts by defense agencies to strengthen self-reliance in defense technology and enhance the strike capabilities of the air force.
